Talk: “Founders: How to meet product-market-fit” through UX & Strategic design”.
Sally Chung spoke to early-stage startup founders on “How to Meet Product-Market Fit” through UX and strategic design.
She highlighted that 14 out of 20 companies fail because they don’t build products that truly serve users and market needs (source: CB Insights). As an experience designer, she emphasized that desirability—focusing deeply on users and product value—is often overlooked, yet critical.
The talk was shaped over several years, drawing from her work leading startup design hackathons, including Designpreneurs Hackathon, and collaborating with numerous early-stage teams. While there is no one-size-fits-all formula, she shared a must-do exercise every startup should go through before launching.
She noted the incredible energy from the founders and expressed excitement about returning to the NYU Stern campus, engaging with the NYU Innovation program.
