Founding Designers Era

Hosted by UC Berkeley’s Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation:

In her talk, Founding Designers in the Agent Era, Sally will give an overview of the latest AI product and design trends, with real-world examples from New York's design and startup community. She will look past the hype to what AI and agentic systems are actually changing for designers today. She will also introduce agent-market fit, a new test for early-stage products as agents begin to act on users' behalf. From there, she will make the case for more founding designers. When a small team can take an idea to a working product in days, the person who decides what gets built matters more than ever. Drawing on her work with founders, students, and fortune 500 design & product leaders, she will show why designers are well placed to lead and how they can start thinking like entrepreneurs.
